The Play Days are booming again and that is great news for young players. NorCal Seeding Committee uses the results from the first four Play Days to help rank the teams for the 2010 NorCal State Cup(s). In some cases this is the only way for NorCal to make sure younger teams are placed in the appropriate NorCal State Cup grouping (Red, White or Blue) to allow them to have the best possible experience.
Teachers well understand the positive learning dynamics of young children watching other young children and thinking "I can do that if I practice". Wise parents will understand the huge benefits from having their children involved in learning demanding physical skills that are wholesome, healthy and that create an environment of friendly competition to improve.
Successful teachers value the students who work hard at improving their academic skills in a positive manner even if they struggle with some tasks. Learning to play soccer is no different! The young players who love to play our difficult and demanding sport should always - always - be treated with the great kindness they deserve.
Every young player - every team - that plays our wonderful sport with great energy and joy should be - must be - treated respectfully as they are gently guided towards higher levels of achievement in a postiive manner.
Thank you for entering a Play Day or two! If your team has not yet registered for one, please consider joining in the fun while there are still openings.
