Adjustments Made to 2010 NorCal Premier Soccer Year Round League
After significant input from Directors of Coaching NorCal Premier Soccer has made some adjustments to its year round soccer league beginning in 2010. We have made these adjustments to allow teams to compete in the Premier, Gold or Silver Divisions regardless of if they participate in the year round league or not. The other adjustment is to the State Cup Calendar for teams U11-13’s (see below).
Teams will be allowed to enter the Phase #1 Fall Round of the League, and ’opt out’ of the Phase #2 Spring Round or enter the Phase #2 Spring Round and ‘opt out’ of the Phase #1 Fall Round. The adjustments will maintain a year round league option but allow those who do not compete in the ’year round’ league to be able to play at their appropriate level – Premier, Gold, Silver or Bronze.
Teams competing in either Phase #1/Fall or Phase #2/Spring of the Norcal Premier League will not be allowed to compete in another league at the same time. This rule has been implemented due to experience with teams who have tried to play in two leagues simultaneously - which caused not only scheduling difficulties but also exposed their players to an unhealthy number of games in a short period of time.
The winners of the U13 - U18 Premier League will be invited to represent Northern California at the US Club Nationals during the summer.
The league will provide a fixed schedule, require clubs to agree to Participation, Communication Standards and Administrative Standards and require a club performance bond. The league will be open only to those Clubs have a proven track record of positive involvement in the NorCal Premier League and who have the necessary structure in the following areas:
1) Club’s Player Development Program/Coaching Structure
2) Club’s Administrative Structure
3) Competitive results used for placement in Premier/ Gold and Silver Divisions
The price per team to enter this League will be $500:
($150 for Phase #1/Fall or $350 for Phase #2/Spring Playing only teams)

NorCal Premier Year Round League Guidelines
The new ’year around’ NorCal Premier League format will kick off in the 2010/2011 season (from August 2010 through May 2011)
Three Year Round Divisions will be formed: Premier, Gold and Silver
The Premier Division will have a fixed format based on a number of 24, 30 or 36 teams accepted in the Division – depending on quality and age group.
The Gold Division will have a more flexible format in terms of team acceptance criteria and bracketing
The League will have a pre-defined fixed schedule with no TBD dates for games.
There will be no overlap between League Games and NorCal State Cup established Weekend Game dates.
The total number of games will be 11-13(8-10 League + 3 Cup) for Aug-Dec, and 13-15 (7-9 League + 7 Cup) for Jan – May.
Teams will be allowed to ’opt out’ of either round of the League but the Phase #2 Spring Divisions will be formed based on Phase #1 Fall Division Results – a few open ‘spots’ may be awarded to teams competing only in Phase #2 Spring based on seeding or a “play in” weekend.
A performance bond of $1500 will be required from all participating clubs.
Strict Sportsmanship and Red Card Procedures will be enforced by the League.
No frozen roster requirements for League play - allowing teams to compete with any players within their club.
Access to year around quality turf fields and referees will be required in order to enter this League.
Trophies will be awarded at the end of the League season in May .
’Bronze’ Divisions will continue to play a ’split’ season Fall and Spring Regional League
The price per team to enter this League will be $500 ($150 for Round #1 -Fall- or $350 for Round #2 -Spring- Playing only teams)
