Thank you very much for entering and helping make this such an exciting event! Please make sure someone on your team has read the NorCal State Cups “action pack" posted on-line and is familiar with the basic rules of the event. Also, please make sure someone is reading the NorCal email messages and passing the information along to the team management. Beginning immediately, all U11 teams should begin to contact the away teams and schedule the first 3 preliminary games within your group. In the U11, NorCal would like all games scheduled and posted on-line by Monday, September 15th. Because the Under 11 State Seeding round does not begin until January, 2009, teams have until Sunday November 9th to play the preliminary round games with the following week available as an emergency back up days in case of rain. Please make sure the fields you use are in excellent condition and meet NorCal requirements for an event of this stature. It is not too late to ask for the "no home games" option! The 3 preliminary games may be played in any order at the convenience of both teams. NorCal expects that most of the games will be played on Sundays, but two teams may agree to play on any day convenient for both teams. Please consult the on-line time-line to see by when the 3 games must be finished and the scores posted on-line.. Once a game day and time has been posted, that day and time can only be changed with the permission of NorCal. If two teams are unable to agree to a date convenient for both teams, please contact me and I will set the day. Scheduling 3 games to be played within a period of over 2 months should not be difficult and seldom needs help from NorCal, but we are ready to quickly step in and settle any problems. Most of the teams contact information is up to date, but if you have a problem contacting a team, let me know. Please do not allow the scheduling process to develop into bitterness or hard feelings! Contact NorCal and a solution for any problem will quickly be proposed to both teams. For example, if a team does not have fields available, I can easily switch the home and away - awarding the home field to the team that has available fields. Or, if teams are having problems agreeing to the game day, a "set aside" Sunday will quickly become the day to play.
