Over 100 teams have entered the 2008 Under 11 Girls and Boys NorCal State Cup(s). It is important that all teams know the following: - The many Clubs that have not registered their U11 players with CYSA asked that we design a schedule for the NorCal State Cup(s) using January, 2009 as the time for the final 4 to 6 games that every team will play. NorCal designed that schedule! - The Clubs asked this knowing that it might create a conflict with the CYSA State Cup – dependent on CYSA considering a change to their traditional dates. - At this time, Under 11 teams that are registered dual CYSA – US Club must assume that they will not be able to play in both competitions. With a change in the CYSA dates, NorCal would welcome the opportunity of the dual teams to play in both! - However, without a change of CYSA dates, Under 11 teams entering the NorCal State Cup(s) must be able to play in the final two week-ends of the competition - First Round: All teams play: No change: local (mostly) seeding round in groups of 4 - still 3 home and/or away games on Sundays in September, October and November. Second Round: All teams play: State wide seeding round will be played home and/or away during January, 2009 especially the days, but not limited to January 17th, 18th, 24th and 25th. January 31st, February 1st will be the rainout weekend. Third Round: All teams play: Quarter-finals - Saturday, February 7th, 2009 at Woodward Park, Manteca Fourth Round: Half of teams play: Semi-finals - Sunday February 8th, 2009 at Woodward Park, Manteca Fifth Round: Twenty five percent of teams play: Saturday, February 14th, 2009 at Woodward Park, Manteca Sunday, February 15th: Rain out day, Woodward Park, Manteca February 21st and February 22nd: Rainout week-end, Woodward Park, Manteca - It would be a very serious infraction of Norcal rules for a team (and their Club) to not be able to play in these long scheduled and known games. This tournament is so finely tuned to “groups of 4 and 8” - and early losses resulting in movement between groups not out of the competition - that an absent team(s) has a severely negative impact on not only the 3 or 7 other teams in the group, but also the whole 48 (Girls) and 56 (Boys) teams that have entered. - If you would rather play in the CYSA Cup or are not sure, please contact NorCal ( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ) for an immediate refund of your registration fee.
