The Championship Round schedules will be posted on-line very soon with
all games scheduled by the position of the teams at the top of the
standings. For example team # 1 vs. team # 6 and a key telling which
team is # 1 and which is # 6. These teams will be selected by their
place in the standings and where possible, doubleheaders are used to
limit travel.
By early next week, all of the remaining teams will have a schedule with the same type of key except that these teams will have finished lower in the standings – from 2nd to 4, 5, 6, or in one case 8th. These schedules will be created keeping teams playing closer to home – maybe even playing a team they played in the first round. For most teams, this type of scheduling should help limit traveling long distances for games. While you will not know the exact team vs. team until the final standings are posted, this should be a useful guide to help you see the dates of the games and when the second round begins in your group – which will usually be the Saturday following the final game of the first round. Please make sure all games that are needed by teams in the running to play in the Championship round are completed by the posted date. In the past, sometimes a team finishing lower in the standings has not cooperated with a team that needs the game and the points. If this happens, the match coordinator will seriously consider awarding a forfeit win to the team ready to play, but we would much prefer the game be played in time to count in the first round standings |
