The NorCal Premier Schedules will be released very shortly. The following describes key ideas and procedures regarding scheduling your games. KEY IDEAS: 1. Wait 48 hours after schedules are on-line before beginning email contact. Please use the Norcal system that enables the “match coordinator” to monitor the communications between teams. 2. Please observe the “48 hour rule” for replying to contacts. Sooner is preferable. 3. Schedule first game first. 4. Schedule all doubleheaders first week of scheduling while you have better field flexibility. 5. After all doubleheaders are scheduled, begin single games 6. As in the past continue to be reasonable and flexible, but help Norcal - be sure the “48 hour rule” is being followed. 7. Contact the “match coordinator” for any help This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it 8. Only the “match coordinator” can change doubleheaders. 9. Games between local teams scheduled as “tbd” may be played at any time and day (Sundays, school holidays, after school, under the lights or on a bye day) agreeable to both teams. 10. Because of the need to schedule the second round of games, each age/gender/ division will have a date by which all first round games “must” be completed. Scheduling Steps and Responsibilities: Forty Eight Hours before beginning the scheduling process: - Please wait 48 hours after schedules are posted on-line before beginning to use the schedules so that we have time to make any corrections that are brought to our attention. - If you notice any mistakes, please notify Herb attn: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, and to view it you need JavaScript enabled. Scheduling Responsibilities: - It is the responsibility of team managers and coaches to work with each other to schedule the games - on the days we have given you. Changes may be made to the schedules, excepting doubleheaders, provided they are agreed upon by both teams. - Games between local teams scheduled as “tbd” may be played at any time and day (Sundays, school holidays, after school, under the lights or on a bye day) agreeable to both teams. - Please schedule as quickly as possible with all games posted on-line within two weeks of the schedule being posted. - We know there are many teams that have scheduled all of their games as quickly as one week after the posting. - The NorCal Spring League is advertised as a Saturday League. With the exception of San Mateo County* and South, unless games have been cancelled because of rain and Sunday play is necessary to complete the season, no team should be expected to play a Sunday game. - * San Mateo County has a severe shortage of fields and NorCal asks that all teams be flexible and helpful when asked to play a game on Sunday. - If two team mutually agree, they may always schedule a Sunday game. - Teams that are unable to commit to the posted set days in the schedule should not enter Spring League. - Except for the first game of the season, please schedule all doubleheaders first. After they have been scheduled – all single games should be finalized. Database – Contact information: - Once you have logged into the www.NorCalpremier.com web site you will have access to all managers, coaches and Club NorCal Representatives. We have invested a lot of time into making sure this database is up to date. This should allow you to contact all teams easily and quickly. Communication - You must respond to a teams communication within 48 hours - Sundays excepted. - In the past, many Managers have waited far too long (as much as a month) before emailing NorCal about not being contacted by the other team. Please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or the event coordinator as soon as possible after the 48 hours has passed. NorCal dos not want diligent managers inconvenienced because a team does not follow this important rule. Please include the name, NorCal ID # and contact information of the other team. NorCal Support: - It is not necessary to contact NorCal if you are receiving communications from your opponents – only if you have reached an impasse. This should be rare. - Once a conflict has been reported to NorCal, they will make a decision about the game quickly. If it is a field availability issue, the logical decision would be to switch the game as home for the away team. The decisions will usually favor the team that has been flexible, reasonable and is willing and able to play within the NorCal scheduling guidelines. Post Scheduled Games: - Once you have contacted your opponents and agreed upon a game time the home team must log in to our site and post the field and game time. Double headers: - It is important that all doubleheaders be played as posted unless permission is granted by the League Manager to make changes. Double headers allow us to eliminate some travel and allows teams who must travel to play two games on one longer trip. In the U11 and older, NorCal does not favor doubleheaders and as more team enter events, we hope to have less and less of them. - Double headers also eliminate the possibility of a team unfairly playing a second game in the afternoon against a team that did not play an AM game.. - Even though it would greatly ease the scheduling process, NorCal never schedules a game between a “tired” team (already played) and one that has not played a game that day! Under NorCal rules it is “never” expected or allowed that a team play their second game of the day against a team that did not play a previous game that day. Forfeits will result if a team is scheduled to play a second game against a team that did not play an AM game and they did not agree to that situation. If a team has agreed to play a second game against a “fresh team”, please make sure that agreement is in writing. |
