The English Premier League, Liverpool Football Club’s Youth Academy Director and former England Youth Coach, John Owens will take a winter break from the English Premier League and will spend a few days in Northern California to consult with soccer leaders. He will lead a coaches education for coaches of Northern California. Date December 8 2007, 5:00 to 7:00 PM | Location: University of San Francisco | Miraschi Room in Xavier Hall. Liverpool FC is also the most successful team in English Soccer history and ranks second only to Real Madrid in European successes. The success of Liverpool F.C Academy graduates such as Michael Owen, Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher is attributed to John’s work as their coach since they were 11 years of age. Other players such as Steve Warnock are enjoying success in the EPL. In 2005 and 2006, John’s U18 team which has been part of the Academy since U10’s, won the F.A Youth Cup Final, beating Manchester City and Manchester United respectively. |
