Norcal State Cup – U9 and U10 Boys and Girls
Wednesday, 30 May 2007
We are pleased to announce the 2007 Norcal State Cup for U9/U10 (Formerly known as the Norcal Cup). We are proud to be the first US Club Soccer sanctioned "State Cup". US Club Soccer is facilitating the development of more State Cups around the country.

2007 Norcal State Cup for U9 and U10 Boys and Girls will include two or more weekends of competition, Norcal State Cup Preliminaries (with local competition) and Norcal State Cup Finals. All teams will advance into the Norcal State Cup Final's Weekend - at a Super, Premier, Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze or Bronze 2 level.

Norcal State Cup Preliminaries:

Norcal State Cup Preliminaries will take place between early October and November 3rd & 4th
  • As much as possible, regional groups will be formed with four teams in each group. However some teams will need to travel to another Region in order to form groups of equal strength.
  • Within the guidelines set by Norcal, teams within the groups of four will play a round robin of three games during the period after the schedules are posted on or before October 1st.and no later than November 3rd & 4th. The make-up day,November 10th and 11th, may be used in case of rain-outs.
  • The Preliminaries will be held at various Home Clubs throughout our playing area.
  • Home Teams will be responsible for coordinating game times, locations and referees.
  • Home Teams will be responsible for the preliminary referee and field costs. If one team hosts all the games for the group, the teams shall divide and share the costs.
  • Teams with excellent fields will be given priority for hosting games, especially the 2nd home game which can only be awarded to two teams in a group of four.
  • If necessary we may combine teams from different regions to form a group of four.
Preliminaries game results will be used to draft the teams in the Super, Premier, Gold, Silver or Bronze level Divisions  for Norcal State Cup Finals’ Weekend in Manteca, Sacramento or Danville.

Norcal State Cup Finals:

The Norcal State Cup Finals will be held on November 17th & 18th  and will be hosted by Manteca FC for the U10 boys, Mustang for the U9 boys, and Sacramento United for the U9 & U10 Girls. Games in Manteca will be played at Woodward Park and games in Sacramento will be at Granite Park. The fields for Mustang is at Diablo Vista Middle School and Mustang Soccer Complex.
  • Groups of four teams will be formed in each of the different brackets based, primarily, on the Preliminaries’ results.
  • Teams will play a total of three games on Saturday, November 17 in a league format.
  • On Sunday, all teams will advance to play single elimination format starting with Quarter Finals, then Semi-Finals and Championship Game for each bracket.
  • In case the Championship Round is rained out the whole schedule will be moved to the week-end of December 8th & 9th.
Norcal Premier Soccer League will provide and pay for fields, referee’s and awards for the Norcal State Cup Final Weekend.

Game times:

All games for Preliminaries will be played with regulation 25 minute halves.
All games for Finals’ Weekend will be played with 18 minutes halves except for the Finals’ Norcal State Cup Championship Game in each bracket, which will be played with regulation 25 minute halves.

Roster size:
