Last year, when a youth soccer coach predicted that "World Style" Division 3 semi-professional Leagues would be flourishing in Northern California within five years, he was politely corrected by the NorCal League Manager who said it would happen much more quickly than five years.
Time will tell how quickly those important Leagues develop, but there are signs that it will be less than five years - maybe half that time.
Clubs still have time to be among the pioneers in that group of Clubs in the "World Model" - serving all players and fans from the youngest - to the young adult - to the grandfather who played in the Club as a youth and adult; and now helps his Club by driving young players from school to practice and then home.
Registration for the U23 Leagues - women and men - will remain open as the teams are processed! There is no NorCal registration fee for entering!

As NorCal Clubs begin to join the rest of the World with a well organized sensible year round "soccer education" program for the younger players - we must never again forget our most loyal and passionate players - the young adult and older players who have played our difficult and demanding sport so hard and well - and for so long! These players represent both our proud past and our promising future!
The 40 year experiment of mostly part time very young soccer players in Youth Soccer Clubs until they are usually about eleven or twelve and then most quitting is over for those who love to play. Under the old system so many young players never really had the opportunity to develop their skills and to learn to love the sport - and so few became life long fans.
The organizations are still in place for those players wishing to continue a more casual approach to playing the "Worlds' Game".
But now, for those who love to play and follow our wonderful sport hundreds of Northern California Clubs, for players of all ages, are joining together to bring a "World Vision" to Northern California - not experimenting, theorizing and personal feelings, but what has been done so successfully throughout the world during the past 40 years - for all to see and enjoy - and copy!
Please help the "Young Adult" part of soccer. There is much that can be done - help organize a team, sponsor a player, help sponsor a team, donate to the Club - help make the adult teams what they are all over the world - the teams for the younger players when they reach adulthood - teams increasing in numbers and constantly improving as the players increase their skills.
Please organize and register that team today!

NorCal is proud and excited to announce year two of our Senior Soccer
League for U20 and U23 men’s and women’s soccer teams. After a very
successful first year, the League for the adult players is expected to
continue to grow rapidly as Clubs begin to form teams for their youth
players who have finished High School and moved on to College or the
work force.
Adult soccer Leagues for all ages will always be a major priority for
NorCal because many of the older players have often spent 12 years or
more playing our wonderful sport. These players are the most loyal and
passionate soccer players in the various Clubs - and there must always
be a League(s) in which they can continue to play their favorite
sport.
Our goal is to provide Youth Soccer Clubs the
chance to connect with adult soccer and become true Soccer Clubs -
based on the World’s Model. Clubs will have the opportunity to offer
their most passionate older youth players, players graduated from high
school, and college players a chance to play soccer and develop during
late Spring and early Summer.
The NorCal long term vision
involves expanding adult leagues at all levels of play into the rest of
the year, thereby connecting youth and adult soccer seamlessly and
allowing clubs to develop “members for life” - again following the
successful World Model.
The 2009 Season will begin the
weekend of June 6th and continue through the weekend of August 1st,
2009. The final two weekends, July 25, 26 and July 31, August 1 will
be reserved for a final playoff - format to be determined based on
number of teams that enter the league.
The teams will be
organized in competitive brackets of similar level teams. Each team
will register their players through US Club Soccer and will be
permitted to roster up to 5 players older than their playing league age
(U20 or U23). US Club team roster will be required by May 10th. This
will leave time to seed the teams prior to the beginning of the
season.
For the "good of the game" the fee to enter will
again be $0; however a $500 performance bond per team is required
before June 5th. Half the bond will be returned at the end of the
season minus any penalties incurred - such as failure to play scheduled
games resulting in penalties to cover home team costs of referees and
reasonable field rental expense. The other $250 will be used to
administer and fund the playoffs.
Referees will be assigned by
the NorCal referees assignor. Each home team is responsible for paying
the referees at the field prior to kickoff.
When:
June 6th through August 1 – Teams will play competitive brackets June
6th through July 19th with playoffs the weekends of July 25, 26 and
July 31, Aug 1.

home team encouraging their younger players to attend.
