Referees, Coaches and Team Managers, it is very important that you read this carefully and printout for your records.

  1. All games will be 8 v 8 (7 and Goalie)
  2. Each team will play three games, each game will be 35-40 minutes. 5 minute half time and 5 minutes between games. Please leave the field as soon as possible after your game.
  3. NorCal recommends that you bring a large roster to Play Dates given the playing time considerations.
  4. Horn based system employed by the hosting club, no extra time, all games run at the same time.
  5. All games will be played on a U8-U10 appropriate size field. General guidelines are between 70x40 and 80x50. Most hosting clubs will have appropriate size goals.
  6. Check in procedures: please check in with the Hosting Club Check in desk at least one hour prior to your first game. You will need to bring a USCS printed roster for your team and the USCS player cards for your team. All teams will need USCS player passes in order to play.
  7. All throw-ins must be done correctly, but at the discretion of the referee a re-throw can be granted.
  8. Penalty kicks will be allowed.
  9. All major and technical fouls will be enforced resulting in direct free kick or indirect free kick as appropriate.
  10. Offside will be enforced.
  11. Either team may substitute on any stoppage, subject to the referee’s approval.

  13. Results will be reported online by the hosting club, and will be used for seeding future events in these age groups.
  14. Teams will be grouped in brackets to try to optimize the playing experience, but if you encounter an uneven game, please try to avoid running up the score and keep the spirit of good sportsmanship throughout the Play Date, emphasis should be placed on safety and player development above anything else at this young age.
  15. No trophies will be awarded in Play Dates.
  16. Referees, while respecting the Laws of the Game, will do their best to keep the game flowing, simple and fun.
  17. Please report any incidents (like red cards, unsportsmanship behavior, etc...) via email to the Play Date Coordinator.
  18. Please note that Norcal will strictly enforce a zero tolerance policy in this regards.
